You want my what?!?

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' this is the first and greatest commandment" (matthew 23:37-43) Ok so we have heard this verse too. we have even heard it in song version. It's a funny quirky little song, in which we can loose the depth of this verse through song sometimes. What does that mean to love God with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind? I think in order to understand how significant this verse is, we must focus on the most important words. love, and all. ok alright yes...we are talking about love again. this time we are talking about what it means to LOVE with ALL of you. When you love something with all your heart, you must be pretty passionate about that thing. you can't wait to use that talent your passionate about, or that cool hobby that you would love to do for the rest of your life. all of us are passionate about something. So how can we be passionate about God? well all you can do is pray for it. there you go answer solved case closed.

ok im just kidding. Yes praying for a passionate heart is a big must do. you can not have a passionate heart if you don't want one (i know... how paradoxical). While praying for that heart on fire, that passionate heart, and that thirst for his word, it is very important that you place yourself in the situation of seeing his glory. ask him to reveal how he has shown that he personally loves you. In order to completely see His majesty and splendor, we must first change our view of Him the all loving God (which he is) and see Him in a personal loving way. take time to truly work through that. To see how he has made Himself present in your life. For me has given me a sense of peace and i have experienced His joy in ways i know i never could on my own.
------------------------------------------------------------------
ok so did thinking about all those blessings and the character of His love make you want to praise and thank him? if not then just ask Him to keep revealing His love to you. If so then begin to ask Him to give you a passionate heart. when we earnestly ask Him for something in His will, He will give it to us. This is definitely in His will. no matter who you are. He desperately wants you to want Him.
Before we can love with all our being, we must spend time with Him. I know your thinking...here we go she is gonna say do my devotional more frequently...NO!!! not just that, but Focus on Him all the time! In everything you do, try to make Him the focus of what you are doing. Wait! so your saying think about Him in everything...like when I am enjoying a hobby? YES!!! that is what i am saying. Rely on God for everything...I mean EVERYTHING. thank him for the air, for the air conditioning, the friends your around. Yout prayer does not need to start with dear God and end in amen. They can be like...hey! thanks for that, you completely rocked my world.Or even allow yourself to be like..God that was pretty funny, thank you for that laugh. Continually focus on Him

Questions!!!
*When i wake in the morning is God my first thought? if not, what is?
* am i equipping myself to focus on God? How much of His goodness am i introducing into my life on a daily basis? (music,
conversation, reading material)
*how is he a part of everything I do? what does he have to do with _______(fill in the blank with each thing you do through out
your day)
Again this is not in our power. ask God to help you focus on him. A little reminder, do not move too fast to the next lesson. let your heart set on this if God is calling you to meditate. allow yourself to focus, to become passionate, to become in love with all of you.

Hey!

Hey guys! This is the first post of the blog. This blog is meant to help you have devotional time. First i want to say that in order to get the most out of what God is trying to reveal, you must be willing to listen and meditate on his advice. Even If you allow yourself to listen and learn, the knowledge does nothing if you don't spend time contemplating and allowing His words to sink into your heart. A daily devotional does not always mean that each day we try to learn something new. Sometimes it is more important for us to just use the next days"quiet time" to secure in our hearts what was said the day before. Don't be too quick to move on to the next lesson or the next epiphany. be patient and allow God to work. Many times he is not done teaching us something, but we don't want to wait. Hopefully the hard questions on this blog will help you on your journey to becoming less, allowing him to be greater.
I plan to at least have a new blog each week. I invite you to join in more than one blog a week if you feel that you are ready to go on, but do not limit God. allow him to work long periods of time if necessary. Please share whatever is on your minds or anything you feel needs to be said. This blog is open.
love you guys!
